Things Your Phone Can Do But You Probably Don't Know |
|
|
Emergency Calls - Dial 112 From Anywhere In The World
The Emergency Number
worldwide for all Cell/Mobile Phones is 112.
If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your cell/mobile
network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and your cell/mobile
will search any existing network in your area to establish the
emergency number for you. This number can be dialed
even if the keypad is locked.
This works on all phones worldwide and is free. It is the
equivalent of 911 (North America) and 000 (Australia).

Opens Your Car
Hold your
cell/mobile phone about a foot from your car door and have the
person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the
cell/mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves
someone from having to drive your keys to you.
Distance is no object. You could be thousands of miles away, and
if you can reach someone who has the other remote for your car,
you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

Disable Your Lost/Stolen
Phone
Write down and store
your phone's IMEI as explained above. If your phone ever get
stolen or lost, you can call your service provider and give them your IMEI number. They will then be able to block your phone so even if the thief
changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.
You probably won't get your phone back but at least you know that
whoever stole it can't use/sell it either.
If everybody done this, there would be no point in people stealing
mobile phones. This is also in the fine print of most cell/mobile phone
manuals. It was created for the very purpose of trying to prevent
phones from being stolen. However please note that not all
service providers will comply, depending on your provider's policy
or country regulations.

Tips To Save Your
Phone's Battery Power |
|
|
-
Reduce your Display Brightness.
Bright display
requires more battery power so setting your display's brightness
to a lower percentage saves battery juice.
-
Turn off Wi-Fi.
With Wi-Fi on,
your phone will frequently check for available networks thus
turning it off when Wi-Fi isn't needed saves battery juice.
-
Turn off Vibrate.
Few people know
that vibrate mode uses more battery juice than the ring only
option. Therefore turning vibrate off when not needed saves
battery juice.
-
Use Airplane Mode when you have no reception.
Same as Wi-Fi,
your phone frequently checks for available networks when it
cannot find an available network.
-
Close unnecessary Applications.
The more
applications you open, the more battery juice your phone will
use. So closing unnecessary applications help save battery
power. |
